A NIGHT OF FASHION AND FUNOctober 21, 2016

Imagine an evening escape to a park set in the heart of a metropolis, where a leisurely stroll beneath the trees and twinkling lights leads you to beautiful florals and soft-lit tables. Here you are invited to dream, dine and play while leaving the big lights and concrete jungle behind.
We had the pleasure of transforming the Alberta Art Gallery into a New York Central Park themed setting for an intimate night of fashion and fun.
This charity fundraising gala was presented in support of United Way charity through the collaborative efforts of Sarah Chan, 2016 United Way Campaign Cabinet Co-chair, and DKNY West Edmonton Mall, to change the story of poverty in our community.
Our special guests Mary Pinkoski, 2014 Edmonton Poet Laureate, and the Alberta Ballet, provided the evening’s entertainment while guests enjoyed their course dinner. Also in attendance was Don Iveson, mayor of Edmonton, with whom guests had the opportunity to meet and mingle with throughout the night.
To capture the feel of sitting beneath trees, we decorated sand-blasted mazanita branches with handcrafted floral balls of delicate white Baby’s Breath and suspended them above the dining tables. White Hydrangea arrangements were integrated in alternating elevations of vanilla candle lights for a chic garden look. We wanted that Central Park atmosphere, so we casted white silhouettes of the city skyline around the dining room walls and washed them in violet hues for a harmonious balance of sophistication.
A night in the park would be not be complete without some stargazing. We wanted our guests to feel like they were outdoors so we created a romantic garden and courtyard by the windows using fresh roses and greeneries and added a touch of magic with string lights on the canopies.
The event was widely successful thanks to the warm hearts and support from our city and planning team. We sincerely thank you for this great opportunity and hope all of our guests took as much pleasure in being a part of it as we did in designing it.
